The stack
The integration and normalization layer. Connect a data source once and it is available through Python, REST, Workspace widgets and MCP. BQID brings one open identifier for every company, person and place, so entities resolve the same way across every source.
An enterprise-grade interface for humans and agents to explore, query, visualize and act on connected data, in your environment. The Excel add-in brings the same data into the spreadsheets teams already use.
Purpose-built agents for specific workflows: earnings analysis, screening, compliance checks, macro monitoring. Each one runs on the Workspace, works from the same connected data, and ships as open source, so you can fork it into an agent for your own workflow.

Didier is the original creator of OpenBB. He raised close to $10M from OSS Capital and Joseph Jacks to build an open agent workspace for the financial services industry. He led the team as CEO for five years, until OpenBB made the decision to wind down the business and release the technology to the world under Apache 2.0.
Before moving on to a new role in the industry, he helped set up OpenBQ to give that stack a permanent home, one the community can keep building in the open and that outlives any single company.
History
OpenBB spent five years building an agent-first workspace for factual data, then released all of it under Apache 2.0.
OpenBQ is the independent foundation that preserves that work and carries it forward. It is funded by BrightQuery, a highly profitable data business that grows as open infrastructure is adopted, so the project has a backer with every reason to keep it open.
